Initially trained as an Electrical Engineer in the Diesel Electric Traction locomotive industry Preston Lancashire working on design and testing of large rotating machines. Chief Electrical Officer in the Merchant Navy. 25 years in the United Kingdom Electricity Supply industry. Firstly as a Coal Fired Power Station engineer followed by a Nuclear Power Station Operations Management and Maintenance engineer. The technical responsibilities required in these positions were in AC / DC motors and generators, Marine electrical apparatus, High voltage operations, Nuclear physics, Radiological safety, Nuclear Reactor operation and control. Steam turbine generator operation and control.
